About the Armidale Catholic Schools Office

St Mary's Catholic Cathedral, Armidale

The Armidale CSO administers 25 schools on behalf of Bishop Luc Matthys, Bishop of Armidale. The CSO was set up in the mid 1970s as a direct result of the need to respond to changes in government policy. While the strong local nature of the schools is retained modern education often demands a system response.

The Director, Mr Rick Johnston is directly responsible to the Bishop through the Bishop's Commission for Catholic Schools. The Catholic Schools Office is situated in Barney Street Armidale. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm.
