We try to understand ourselves, the world around us and the cosmos itself. Our insights are continually enriched and refined by advances in science.
Our search carries us to a point when we realise that there is much we wish to know which is beyond the capability of reason and its tools (science), eg. "What is the source of the laws of physics that govern the universe?", and "What is the purpose of our existence?"
At this stage, reason tells us that it is eminently reasonable not to allow guess-work, feelings and preference to be our tutors and guides. Here, many get stuck, many back off, while some decide to go further, into the Mystery ahead.
Those who persevere in this quest are beckoned to and are required to enter a realm which defies formulation and explanation, but which they know is there.
Reason assures us that at the heart of this Mystery there is not a mindless automaton or force, but that which is beyond matter and independent of it, that which is not time-bound. There is intelligence, pure consciousness, uncreated, personal, infinite and eternal. This leads to the recognition of the Transcendent, God as source and creator of all things.
